Job summary

Creative Leadership Solutions seeks a skilled Electrical/Mechanical Technician to install and service poultry and piggery equipment in agricultural environments. You will wire distribution boards, diagnose faults, and assist with commissioning while adhering to safety standards.

Travel nationally and internationally, after-hours callouts, and a valid driver’s license are required; Afrikaans is a plus. Strong reporting and admin skills are essential to maintain documentation and stock control.

Qualifications

• Matric and trade qualification are required.

• Experience with poultry/piggery equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Install poultry and piggery equipment according to customer specifications.
• Install electrical wiring, distribution boards and related systems.
• Assist with project commissioning.
• Ensure installations comply with safety standards.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections.
• Provide on-site customer support.
• Resolve customer queries and technical concerns.
• Maintain strong client relationship.
• Complete job cards accurately and timeously.
• Produce detailed service and installation reports.
• Maintain technical documentation.
• Assist with stock taking where required.
• Assist Operations Manager and installation teams.
• Oversee ongoing projects when required.
• Make ad hoc stock deliveries.
• Adhere to Health & Safety standards and procedures.
• Stay updated with technological developments in the industry.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education (essential):

• National Senior Certificate (Matric)
• Qualified Electrician – Red Seal Trade Test Certificate
• Diploma or Higher Diploma in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)

Minimum applicable experience (years):

• 3–5 years relevant technical experience

Required nature of experience:

• Installation, repair, and servicing of poultry and piggery equipment
• Electrical wiring, distribution boards, and fault finding
• Programming and commissioning of technical equipment
• Attending to breakdowns and after-hour callouts
• Working in agricultural or industrial environments

Skills and Knowledge (essential):

• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Knowledge of Health & Safety practices and procedures
• Experience with SKOV, CODAF or similar systems (advantageous)
• Strong administrative and reporting ability
• Computer literacy (MS Office & relevant technical software)

Other:

• Willingness and Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally, and to attend after-hours callouts when required.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
• Proficient in English (Afrikaans advantageous)
