Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Systems Designer to develop electrical systems for diverse SA projects. The role is remote with occasional travel to Polokwane and other sites, requiring strong CAD-based design, load calculations, and adherence to SA codes.

You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver robust power distribution and lighting solutions, while keeping up with industry standards and project budgets.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical systems design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for electrical design.
• Solid understanding of South African standards (SANS) and local regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, earthing, and protection for new and existing projects.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD and relevant design software.
• Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit studies, and voltage drop analyses.
• Select electrical equipment and components ensuring compliance with project requirements and budget.
• Coordinate electrical designs with structural, mechanical, and architectural disciplines.
• Ensure designs meet applicable South African standards and local regulations.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to technical queries during construction.
• Assist in preparation of project proposals and cost estimates.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical design best practices and advancements.

About the Role

Our client, a specialist engineering firm focused on infrastructure development, is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Designer to join their growing team. This role, based remotely with occasional travel to Polokwane, involves the detailed design and specification of electrical systems for a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects across South Africa. You will be responsible for creating comprehensive electrical schematics, power distribution layouts, and lighting designs, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Requirements

• Good written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
