Placements24 seeks an Electrical Project Engineer for George, Western Cape, to lead electrical design and on-site delivery of solar and wind projects. Based in George, you will manage electrical aspects from inception to commissioning, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and budget adherence.

You will coordinate with site teams, contractors, and utilities, perform design reviews, and drive grid connection approvals. A driven leader with 5+ years in renewables is ideal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of project engineering experience in renewables preferred.
• Experience with solar PV or wind turbine electrical systems is essential.
• Knowledge of power electronics, grid integration and protection systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical engineering design and implementation of renewable energy projects.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources for electrical components.
• Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and suppliers for project execution.
• Perform technical reviews of designs, specifications, and installation procedures.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards and project requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and commissioning activities for electrical systems.
• Mitigate project risks related to electrical installations and grid connection.
• Prepare progress reports and final handover documentation.
• Liaise with utility companies and regulatory bodies on grid approvals.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during construction and operation.
