Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer for a hybrid role in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will manage all electrical aspects of large-scale projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality outcomes.

You will lead planning, scheduling, and control activities, coordinating with site teams, contractors, and vendors. The role requires a strong technical background and proven PM skills to drive successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical project management, preferably in industrial sectors.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex electrical projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards applicable in South Africa.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with contract negotiation and vendor management.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Manage all electrical engineering aspects of assigned projects, from inception to completion.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress closely.
• Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Oversee the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for electrical project activities.
• Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Manage project resources, including personnel and equipment, effectively.
• Communicate project status and technical details to stakeholders, including clients and management.
