Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Project Engineer for our client in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. Lead projects from concept to commissioning, coordinating design, manufacturing and installation with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project engineering, strong mechanical engineering background, and proficiency with MS Project/Primavera. Travel to sites is required; a hybrid work model is offered, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of project engineering/management experience.
• Proven track record managing complex engineering projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Experience with project management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, production, procurement, and service.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules and resource strategies.
• Oversee design and development of industrial machinery to client specs.
• Manage suppliers and contractors for timely delivery.
• Facilitate communication among clients, teams and vendors.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct site visits for installation supervision and commissioning.
• Prepare progress reports and technical documentation.
