Placements24 client, a leading engineering consultancy, seeks a Senior Project Engineer specializing in Electrical Infrastructure to lead end-to-end projects from concept to handover in a hybrid role based in Pietermaritzburg.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and 8–10 years of experience, with strong PM skills, leadership, and ability to interpret complex schematics. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8–10 years of experience in managing electrical infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record of delivering complex electrical projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of power systems, transmission, distribution, and protection principles.
• Experience with project management methodologies and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to interpret complex electrical schematics and technical documentation.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage electrical infrastructure projects, including substations, power distribution networks, and transmission lines.
• Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant national and international standards, codes, and regulations.
• Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Supervise on-site construction and commissioning activities to ensure quality and safety.
• Prepare project reports, progress updates, and final project documentation.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
