Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer for its Mossel Bay plant in the Western Cape. The role focuses on developing preventative maintenance strategies, reducing downtime, and ensuring electrical safety across high and low voltage systems.

You will lead a team of technicians, manage spare parts inventory, and collaborate on upgrades and regulatory compliance, contributing to reliable plant performance and safety.

Qualifications

• B.Eng or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in electrical maintenance in heavy industrial/manufacturing.
• Experience with HV/LV distribution, motor controls, VSDs and PLCs.
• Familiar with SANS and OHSA electrical safety standards.
• Experience supervising a technical team.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults, minimizing downtime.
• Supervise and mentor electrical maintenance technicians.
• Conduct inspections of electrical installations and safety systems.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for electrical maintenance.
• Participate in planning and execution of electrical upgrades and modifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Contribute to electrical safety procedures and training.
