Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for the Klerksdorp plant in North West, South Africa. You will maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and control systems, install and commission new electrical installations, and lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximise plant availability and safety.

Qualified Electrician or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably heavy manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, motor control and instrumentation.
Experience troubleshooting PLCs and VSDs.
Ability to read complex electrical schematics and diagrams.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plant electrical equipment and systems.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults and malfunctions efficiently.
Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical assets.
Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Install and commission new electrical equipment and control systems.
Ensure safety standards and regulations (e.g., OHS Act) are followed.
Troubleshoot PLCs, VSDs, and other industrial control systems.
Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability and energy efficiency.
