Placements24 in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance team responsible for plant electrical systems and equipment. This hands-on role focuses on preventing downtime and ensuring safe, efficient operation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical maintenance, with supervisory experience, and is proficient with motor control, PLCs, VSDs, and power distribution.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant trade qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with industrial electrical systems, including motor control, PLCs, VSDs, and power distribution.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety principles and procedures.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is an advantage.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Mossel Bay area.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the electrical maintenance team, ensuring efficient task allocation and completion.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance schedules for all plant electrical equipment and systems.
• Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of electrical faults, ensuring rapid resolution to minimize production disruptions.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, local regulations, and industry best practices.
• Manage spare parts inventory and order necessary components for maintenance and repair work.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical installations to identify potential hazards or areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts usage.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a culture of skill development and safety awareness.
• Liaise with production teams and management to coordinate maintenance activities and address operational needs.
