About the Role

Our client, a reputable contractor involved in major construction and infrastructure projects, is seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Supervisor for their operations in East London. This role is critical for overseeing and directing the safe and efficient installation of electrical systems on construction sites. You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical work is performed according to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical installation, proven supervisory experience, and a thorough understanding of construction site safety protocols. This position is key to the successful execution of electrical components of various projects in the East London area.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of electricians and electrical technicians on construction sites.
• Ensure all electrical installations are carried out in strict accordance with project plans, specifications, and relevant codes.
• Implement and enforce site safety procedures and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety standards.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications, and provide guidance to the installation team.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and other supervisors to ensure seamless integration of electrical work with other trades.
• Manage the inventory and efficient use of electrical materials and equipment on site.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues or conflicts that arise during the construction phase.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports on electrical installation activities.
• Ensure all installations are tested and commissioned correctly before handover.

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a relevant trade qualification (e.g., NQF Level 4 or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical installations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Proven experience in supervising electrical installation teams on construction sites.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical installation methods, tools, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., OHS Act, SANS).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to health and safety on construction sites.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
