You will lead maintenance programs, diagnose faults, manage projects, and mentor a team of electricians. Pr. Eng. registration and 8+ years in mining or heavy industry are required.

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the mining industry, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their operations in **Bloemfontein**. This role is critical for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical infrastructure within a demanding mining environment. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upgrading of all electrical systems and equipment, including power generation, distribution, motors, and control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy industrial electrical engineering, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment in a mining environment.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical assets.

Requirements

• Proven experience with high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) systems, motors, VFDs, and PLCs.
• Strong understanding of mining electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Experience in project management and leading technical teams.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills in a high-pressure environment.
• Proficiency in electrical schematics reading and interpretation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work shifts and attend to emergencies as needed.
