Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for Upington, Northern Cape, to design and implement electrical systems for industrial and infrastructure projects. You will perform load calculations, prepare schematics, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical design, proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, ETAP, and knowledge of SANS. ECSA registration is highly desirable, and travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years post-graduate experience in electrical engineering design, preferably industrial/infrastructure.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, ETAP).
• Strong knowledge of power systems, control systems, instrumentation, and SANS codes.
• ECSA registration is highly desirable.

This role is integral to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for a variety of projects, including power generation, mining infrastructure, and commercial facilities. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical design, load calculations, system specifications, and ensuring compliance with all relevant electrical codes and safety standards. Requirements

• Knowledge of relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and international electrical codes.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on complex projects.
• Experience working in the Northern Cape region or on related projects is an advantage.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
