Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and supervision of electrical systems for major infrastructure projects based in Upington. You will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other disciplines to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, on-site supervision, and adherence to SANS standards, with opportunities to impact regional development within a dynamic project environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Strong knowledge of South African electrical codes and standards (SANS).
• Experience with project management principles and site supervision.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical infrastructure, including power distribution, lighting, and earthing systems.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
• Oversee electrical installations on-site, ensuring adherence to design and safety standards.
• Conduct site inspections, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems and equipment.
• Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure project timelines and quality are met.
• Perform load flow and fault level calculations for electrical networks.
