Job summary

Network Recruitment is actively seeking a High Voltage Electrical Engineer with 2+ years of experience to drive HV system projects across power, energy, utilities, mining and renewables in South Africa.

The candidate should hold a BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering, be on track with ECSA, and ideally PR Eng. Exposure to HV/MV systems, substations, protection, switchgear and transformers is preferred.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 2+ years' relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Experience in HV/MV power systems, substations, utilities, mining, renewable energy, EPC or industrial environments.
• Exposure to HV equipment, protection systems, switchgear and transformers.
• Understanding of electrical protection and power-system principles.
• Experience with electrical calculations and power-system studies is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret and develop single-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of SANS, IEC and grid-code requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent technical communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
• Focus on electrical safety, technical quality and engineering compliance.
