Job summary

WSP in Africa seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to join the Property and Build Services team, providing technical leadership and acting as the electrical design authority for high‑reliability power systems across data centre and industrial projects.

The role focuses on design and delivery of HV/MV/LV systems with emphasis on resilience, redundancy, and operational continuity, particularly in data centre environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum BSc Eng. or B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng) required.
• At least 10 years of consulting engineering experience with building services and industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and concise designs, design calculations, budgets, tender specs, and manage project financials across all stages.
• Collaborate with a global multi-disciplinary team and integrate with the design process.
• Lead design delivery for HV/MV/LV systems with emphasis on resilience and continuity in high-impact environments.
• Develop client relationships and act as a technical advisor to secure repeat work in data centres and industrial sectors.
