Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to lead\ndesign and implementation of electrical distribution systems for projects in Soweto, Gauteng. The role focuses on creating detailed designs, ensuring compliance with South African codes, and collaborating with project teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in power distribution design, proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit, and knowledge of SANS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design for power distribution.
• Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech. Eng. registration with ECSA is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical distribution systems including schematics and single-line diagrams.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
• Ensure compliance with SANS and SA utility requirements; prepare specs and tender docs.
• Site visits and construction support in Soweto.
