Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer specializing in Power Distribution to join our Kimberley team. The role offers hybrid work, combining remote tasks with essential in-office collaboration to design, plan and specify electrical distribution systems for commercial, industrial, and municipal projects.

You will conduct load calculations, short-circuit analyses, and protection coordination, ensuring compliance with SANS, IEC, and other standards.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–6 years of experience in electrical power distribution design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or ETAP.
• Knowledge of SANS, IEC and relevant standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design electrical distribution systems, including medium and low voltage networks.
• Prepare electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, schematics, and cable schedules.
• Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, cables, and protective devices.
• Conduct load calculations, fault current analysis, and protection coordination studies.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international electrical standards (e.g., SANS, IEC).
• Liaise with utility companies and regulatory bodies for approvals and connections.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Perform site visits for data collection, inspection, and construction support.
• Prepare technical specifications and tender documentation.
• Assist in project management tasks related to electrical distribution aspects.
