Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA required.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in power distribution engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of distribution system design, protection, and operational principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement upgrades to the electrical distribution network.
• Conduct load forecasting, fault analysis, and protection coordination.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of distribution substations, overhead lines, and underground cables.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and NERSA requirements.
• Manage projects from conception through commissioning, including budget and schedule control.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Investigate and resolve power quality issues and service interruptions.
