Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Technician in Mossel Bay to translate engineering concepts into practical electrical designs and documentation. You will work with Electrical Engineers to produce drawings, schematics, and BOMs for various projects in energy and infrastructure sectors.

The role requires 2–4 years of CAD drafting experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP, and a solid understanding of electrical systems and standards.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Electrical Design Technician or Draughtsperson.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP).
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and industry standards.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software under the guidance of engineers.
• Assist in the development of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and equipment specifications.
• Ensure all design documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with project requirements and standards.
• Support engineers in site inspections and data collection for existing electrical installations.
• Maintain and organize project drawing files and design databases.
• Contribute to the review process of design documents from vendors and contractors.
