Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the team in Port Elizabeth. You will conceptualize and develop electrical systems for diverse projects, translating client requirements into robust, compliant designs using CAD and simulation tools.

You will collaborate with mechanical and software engineers, maintain comprehensive design documentation, and support manufacturing, installation, and testing. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer with a strong portfolio of designs.
• Proficiency in CAD and simulation software; knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong communication and teamwork in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and specifications for power systems, control systems, and electronic circuits.
• Perform calculations and simulations to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Select appropriate electrical components and equipment, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software engineers, to ensure integrated system design.
• Create and maintain design documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and technical reports.
• Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, and testing phases.
