Job summary

P&L is seeking an Edge bander & Pothole Operator for external applications. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to OHS standards, and strong customer service within a busy workshop environment.

The candidate should be capable of handling cutting and edging machinery, performing calculations as needed, and maintaining a safe, efficient work area. Availability for shifts and holidays is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications.
• 2 years carpentry experience would be advantageous
• 1 year experience working with cutting and edging & drilling machinery would be advantageous
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays.
• Able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers correctly on product.
• Assist customers with any product queries.
• Assist with customer complaints timely.
• Ensure your area is free of obstacles and stock is merchandised after receipt.
• Assist in other departments as required.
• Maintain safe area with OHSA compliance and proper machinery use.
• Minimise wastage through accurate machine calibration and cutting lists.
• Daily cleaning and preventative maintenance of machinery.
