Job summary

Dante Personnel partners with a well-established law firm to recruit an experienced EDC Portfolio Manager who will own outsourced debt recovery portfolios and drive vendor performance.

You will maximise recoveries, manage KPIs and SLAs with external agencies, analyse performance data, and ensure compliance with NCA, Debt Collectors Act and POPIA.

Role requires 5–8 years in debt collections, 3+ years managing outsourced vendors, advanced Excel and familiarity with Excalibur/Cheetah.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years’ experience in debt collections and recoveries.
• 3+ years’ experience managing outsourced agencies.
• Experience with secured, unsecured, legal and post-judgment portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of SA collections legislation and practices.
• Advanced Excel; familiarity with Excalibur/Cheetah is a plus.

• Manage a portfolio of outsourced delinquent accounts.
• Drive performance against recovery targets, KPIs and SLAs.
• Build and manage relationships with external collection agencies.
• Analyse portfolio performance and implement improvement strategies.

Job description

A well-established Law Firm is looking for an experienced EDC Portfolio Manager to take ownership of outsourced debt recovery portfolios, drive vendor performance and maximise recoveries.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12
• 5–8 years’ experience in debt collections/recoveries
• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing outsourced debt collection agencies/vendors
• Experience across secured, unsecured, legal and/or post-judgment portfolios
• Strong knowledge of South African collections legislation and practices
• Proven experience managing KPIs, SLAs, recovery targets and vendor performance
• Strong analytical, reporting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced Excel and experience with collection systems such as Excalibur/Cheetah advantageous
• Experience in a banking, retail credit or financial services environment advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee a portfolio of outsourced delinquent accounts
• Drive EDC performance against recovery targets, KPIs and SLAs
• Build and manage strong relationships with external collection agencies
• Analyse portfolio performance, identify trends and implement improvement strategies
• Manage escalations, queries, account allocation and portfolio balancing
• Monitor vendor compliance with NCA, Debt Collectors Act, POPIA and applicable legislation
• Conduct performance reviews, audits and ongoing vendor monitoring
• Provide management with performance reports, insights and recommendations
• Identify opportunities to improve recovery strategies, vendor efficiency and overall portfolio performance
