Job summary

Samsonite is seeking an experienced Ecommerce Strategy Lead in South Africa to drive revenue growth and optimise the online customer journey alongside the retail network. You will manage multiple platforms, coordinate campaigns, and partner with internal teams and external agencies to deliver a superior digital experience.

You will monitor performance metrics, leverage analytics, and tailor SEO/SEM efforts while ensuring seamless operational execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an ecommerce or digital performance role.
• Proven track record of driving revenue growth and optimising digital customer journeys.
• Experience working with ecommerce platforms and content management systems (e.g., Wordpress WooCommerce, experience with Bigcommerce will be an advantage).
• Experience in digital performance marketing, including PPC, SEO, Google Analytics, and email marketing tools such as MailChimp.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the ecommerce roadmap/strategy to achieve revenue, conversion, and customer acquisition goals.
• Maintain and optimise five ecommerce platforms for daily operations and stock accuracy.
• Lead ongoing improvements to site structure, navigation, product pages, and merchandising strategies.
• Monitor KPIs (traffic, conversion, bounce, AOV, ROAS) and build dashboards for performance reviews.
• Plan and coordinate online brand campaigns and new product launches with management and partners.
• Implement CRO strategies and work with dev teams to deliver product experiences and personalised campaigns.
• Oversee customer service to ensure high-quality interactions and timely responses.
• Manage ecommerce budget and report on spend against growth objectives.
• Provide regular performance updates to local and European management; conduct weekly/monthly reviews.
