Placements24 is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join a busy hotel and conference centre’s culinary team in Welkom. You will support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen management, ensuring high-quality dishes for hotel guests, banquets, and the restaurant.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
• Proficiency in various cooking techniques and international cuisines.
• Experience in managing and motivating a kitchen brigade.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently.

• Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Supervise and guide a team of chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to standards.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring consistent quality, taste, and presentation across all service periods.
• Monitor food inventory levels, assist with stocktaking, and contribute to efficient ordering and waste reduction.
