Placements24 is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations for a dynamic catering division in Paarl. You will help with menu planning, food preparation, staff supervision, and maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong culinary experience, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences at busy events.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie.
• Strong cooking techniques and food prep knowledge.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in kitchen management, prep, cooking and presentation.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensure recipe adherence and standards.
• Manage inventory, receiving and storage for cost control.
• Maintain immaculate kitchen hygiene, sanitation and safety.</br>Ensure timely execution of dishes during high-volume events.
• Contribute to menu development with innovative ideas.
• Ensure efficient workflow during busy catering events.
