Placements24 is recruiting a Sous Chef for a prestigious restaurant group in Welkom, South Africa. You will work closely with the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen operations, mentor junior staff and ensure consistent delivery of exceptional dishes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a quality restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients and presentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage time, work under pressure and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including food prep, cooking and presentation.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes, techniques and hygiene.
• Manage inventory, control food costs, and ensure stock rotation and ordering.
• Contribute to menu development and specials with innovative ideas.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe kitchen environment.
• Lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence to ensure seamless operations.
