Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Warehouse Inventory Control Lead for our Durban operations. The role focuses on maintaining inventory accuracy, managing WMS processes, and leading a small team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

You will implement cycle counting, investigate discrepancies, and drive improvements to minimize stock losses while ensuring correct stock rotation and reporting for management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in warehouse inventory control.
• Proven experience with WMS and inventory management software.
• Strong understanding of cycle counting and stocktaking methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven leadership ability to train and motivate a team.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Implement and manage regular cycle counting and full stocktakes.
• Investigate discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for inventory processes.
• Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and flag slow-moving stock.
• Develop inventory control reports and metrics for management.
• Collaborate with receiving/shipping to ensure accurate transactions.
• Train and supervise inventory staff, promoting best practices.
• Monitor warehouse layout to optimize stock accessibility and reduce errors.
• Contribute to process improvements to increase accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
