Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Durban warehouse and distribution centre, ensuring efficient, safe and compliant operations. You will oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping while optimizing inventory, coordinating transportation, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain in KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in operations management within logistics.
• Experience managing large-scale warehouse operations.
• Proficiency with WMS and TMS systems.
• Strong leadership and budgeting skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in warehousing.
• Experience in Durban or KwaZulu-Natal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse ops including receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping.
• Develop strategies to optimize inventory and reduce stockouts.
• Manage transportation logistics for timely, cost-efficient delivery.
• Lead and mentor warehouse staff to meet targets.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Monitor KPIs to drive efficiency and cost reductions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and 3PLs; manage budgets.
• Contribute to Durban operations planning and supply chain strategy.
