Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee large-scale infrastructure development projects in Durban. The role requires strong civil engineering knowledge, project planning, and execution capabilities within demanding environments.

You will manage all project phases from feasibility to handover, coordinate with contractors, government bodies, and stakeholders, and ensure on-time delivery within budget and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equal; civil engineering preferred.
• Minimum 10 years progressive experience in infrastructure project management.
• Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, execution, and completion of major infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities).
• Develop detailed project plans, scopes, budgets, and timelines.
• Oversee contractor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, consultants, and government agencies throughout the lifecycle.
• Manage project finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; develop contingency plans.
