Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Retail Inventory & Stock Control Specialist for Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. You will ensure accuracy of stock records across Durban stores, implement robust controls, and optimize inventory levels to balance availability and costs in a fast-paced retail environment.

This hybrid role requires you to perform physical counts in stores, analyze stock data, and collaborate with store teams and warehouse staff.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in inventory management within retail.
• Proficiency with Excel for data analysis.
• Experience with inventory systems and cycle counts.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory control for Durban stores, ensuring stock records are accurate.
• Conduct physical counts, cycle counts, and stock audits to identify discrepancies.
• Implement and refine inventory procedures to reduce shrinkage.
• Analyze inventory data to identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and recommend actions.
• Collaborate with store managers and warehouse staff on receiving, storage and replenishment.
• Utilize inventory software to track stock levels, manage orders and generate reports.
• Monitor stock levels against forecasts and demand patterns.
• Investigate root causes of variances and implement corrective actions.
