Job summary

Mayfly Agri is seeking a proactive Sales role focused on drone services (spraying, mapping, crop monitoring) across farming sites. You will build a strong client portfolio, nurture existing relationships, and lead on-farm demonstrations with hands-on technical training.

Ideal candidates hold Matric/NQF4 with RPC, 2+ years of agri-tech sales, and fluency in Afrikaans and English, plus a valid EC license and willingness to travel to rural locations.

Qualifications

• Must have National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 with RPC certificate.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant sales experience in agriculture or agri-tech preferred.
• Full proficiency in Afrikaans and English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Valid code EC driver’s license with willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight in rural locations.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow a client portfolio for drone services (spraying, mapping, crop monitoring).
• Manage and maintain client relationships to maximise retention and value.
• Conduct on-farm product demonstrations to showcase drone technology benefits.
• Provide expert technical consultations on clients’ farms for operational needs.
• Drive new business via cold calling and lead generation.
• Convert referrals into closed sales opportunities.
• Represent the company at agricultural events to generate leads.
• Deliver outstanding after-sales service and technical follow-up.
• Provide hands-on training on drone operation, safety, and usage.
• Coordinate fleet maintenance and drone repairs; support data-driven agronomic insights.

• Minimum 2 years’ relevant sales experience, preferably in the agriculture or agri-tech sector
• Full proficiency in both Afrikaans and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Must have a valid code EC driver’s license with willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight in rural locations when required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Building and actively growing a strong client portfolio for drone services, including spraying, mapping, and crop monitoring solutions.
• Managing and maintaining existing client relationships to maximise retention, repeat business, and long-term value.
• Conducting compelling on-farm product demonstrations to showcase the benefits and capabilities of drone technology.
• Delivering expert technical consultations directly to clients on their farms, addressing operational and agronomic needs.
• Driving new business development through proactive cold calling and lead generation activities.
• Nurturing and converting referrals into closed sales opportunities.
• Representing the organisation professionally at agricultural exhibitions, shows, and industry events to generate leads and raise brand awareness.
• Providing outstanding after-sales service and comprehensive technical follow-up to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
• Delivering hands-on training to clients on correct drone operation, safety, and effective usage of spraying and monitoring systems.
• Coordinating efficient fleet maintenance, overseeing drone repairs, and supporting internal teams by leveraging drone-generated data to deliver valuable agronomic insights.
