Job summary

Mayfly Agri is seeking a Field Sales Executive to grow our drone services for farmers. The role requires Matric (NQF4) and RPC certification, at least 2 years of agri-sales experience, and fluency in Afrikaans and English.

You will travel extensively, perform on-farm demonstrations, provide technical consultations, train clients, and develop new business while maintaining key relationships for long-term value.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent NQF4.
• RPC certificate is required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in agriculture or agri-tech.

Responsibilities

• Building and growing a strong client portfolio for drone services (spraying, mapping, crop monitoring).
• Managing and maintaining existing client relationships to maximise retention.
• Conducting on-farm product demonstrations to showcase drone technology.
• Delivering expert technical consultations to clients on their farms.
• Driving new business through cold calling and lead generation.
• Nurturing and converting referrals into closed sales opportunities.
• Representing the organisation at agricultural exhibitions and industry events to generate leads.
• Providing after-sales service and technical follow-up to ensure client satisfaction.
• Delivering hands-on training to clients on drone operation, safety, and usage of spraying and monitoring systems.
• Coordinating fleet maintenance, drone repairs, and supporting teams by leveraging drone data for agronomic insights.

Job description

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a National Senior Certificate (Matric) or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification, together with a valid Remote Pilot Competency (RPC) certificate
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant sales experience, preferably in the agriculture or agri-tech sector
• Full proficiency in both Afrikaans and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Must have a valid code EC driver’s license with willingness to travel extensively and stay overnight in rural locations when required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Building and actively growing a strong client portfolio for drone services, including spraying, mapping, and crop monitoring solutions.
• Managing and maintaining existing client relationships to maximise retention, repeat business, and long-term value.
• Conducting compelling on-farm product demonstrations to showcase the benefits and capabilities of drone technology.
• Delivering expert technical consultations directly to clients on their farms, addressing operational and agronomic needs.
• Driving new business development through proactive cold calling and lead generation activities.
• Nurturing and converting referrals into closed sales opportunities.
• Representing the organisation professionally at agricultural exhibitions, shows, and industry events to generate leads and raise brand awareness.
• Providing outstanding after-sales service and comprehensive technical follow-up to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
• Delivering hands-on training to clients on correct drone operation, safety, and effective usage of spraying and monitoring systems.
• Coordinating efficient fleet maintenance, overseeing drone repairs, and supporting internal teams by leveraging drone-generated data to deliver valuable agronomic insights.
