Job summary

Libstar in Cape Town seeks a Delivery Driver to distribute products promptly and cost-effectively to customers from Killarney Gardens. You will follow routes and schedules, load/unload, and ensure delivery notes are signed on site.

Responsibilities include maintaining the vehicle, keeping logs up to date, reporting issues to the Dispatch Supervisor, and upholding safety and PPE standards. A valid C1 license and PDP are required, along with three years’ delivery experience.

Qualifications

• Must have Senior certificate and a valid C1 license with PDP.
• Three years’ proven working experience as a delivery driver.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (PPE) and basic Food Safety.
• Ability to follow correct customer protocols and maintain professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Deliver items to various addresses via established routes and schedules.
• Load, unload, and prepare deliveries; check delivery notes and obtain signatures.
• Ensure signatures on delivery notes at customer premises and report any issues promptly.
• Maintain vehicle condition, perform basic maintenance, and keep travel/log books up to date.
• Report shortages, feedback, and issues to the Dispatch Supervisor and adhere to PPE safety protocols.

Reporting to: Dispatch Supervisor

Location: Killarney Gardens, Cape Town

Purpose of the role:

Ensure that company products are distributed promptly to our customers in a professional and cost-effective manner.

Key Job Roles and Responsibilities:

Logistic Support

• Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes.
• Follow routes and time schedule as indicated by Administrator.
• Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a light/heavy delivery vehicle (code 10).
• Deliver stock and check off from delivery note accurately.
• Ensure signature of delivery notes at customer premises.
• Positively represent the Company.
• Report any issues to the Dispatch Supervisor as soon as possible.
• Report shortages and provide feedback.

Vehicle Maintenance

• Complete vehicle checklist, including but not limited to, checking oil and tyres properly and keeping the vehicles in clean condition, both inside and outside.
• Ensure sound running of the vehicles assigned and follow instruction from Dispatch Supervisor on minor repairs when necessary.
• Keep track of vehicle licencing renewals.
• Maintain and update daily/weekly/monthly travel log.
• Record and report any vehicle defects or mechanical problems.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
