Job summary

Premier FMCG (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to safely transport company goods and ensure timely deliveries to customers across Gauteng. You will perform daily vehicle inspections, complete delivery documentation, and comply with road traffic laws, food safety standards, and company policies.

The role requires a Grade 12, a valid Code 14 licence with PDP/PrDP, and proven experience driving heavy-load trucks.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
  • Valid Code 14 Drivers Licence with PDP/PrDP.
  • Experience driving heavy-load trucks.
  • Strong reading, writing and numeracy skills.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and collect products safely and on time according to scheduled routes.
  • Provide professional service to internal and external customers.
  • Monitor and safeguard stock during deliveries and collections.
  • Accurately complete and manage delivery documentation, including POs, dispatch notes, SCTs, invoices, and vehicle logbooks in accordance.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and ensure the truck is roadworthy and clean.
  • Comply with all road traffic laws, company policies, and transport regulations.
  • Report vehicle issues, delivery delays, incidents, and food safety concerns promptly. Assist with loading and offloading activities when required
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, food safety, and quality in line with FSSC 22000 requirements.
  • Support the company's food safety and quality objectives while working under varying operational conditions.
  • Maintain punctuality to ensure timeous deliveries and report delays in time.

Job Purpose

Experience and Qualifications
  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Valid Code 14 Drivers Licence with a valid PDP /PrDP.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Commitment to health, safety, quality, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
