About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Drilling Supervisor to lead their drilling operations in the Soweto region. This frontline leadership role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling programs. You will manage the day-to-day activities of the rig crew, ensure compliance with all drilling procedures and safety regulations, and make critical decisions to overcome operational challenges within the Oil & Gas sector . Collaborating with drilling engineers and other site personnel, you will play a pivotal role in achieving drilling objectives while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental performance. This is a demanding but rewarding position for an experienced drilling professional.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct all drilling operations on the rig, ensuring adherence to the drilling plan and procedures.
• Ensure the safety of personnel and the environment by strictly enforcing HSE policies and regulations.
• Manage rig crew performance, provide leadership, and foster a cohesive team environment.
• Monitor drilling parameters and make necessary adjustments to optimize drilling efficiency and wellbore integrity.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of drilling equipment and ensure its readiness.
• Communicate effectively with drilling engineers, company representatives, and other stakeholders regarding operations progress and issues.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Driller or Assistant Driller, progressing to a supervisory role.
• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in drilling operations within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proven leadership abilities and experience managing rig crews.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., IWCF Level 3 or higher) are essential.
