Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Dispute Resolution Associate for its Bloemfontein, Free State office. The role will involve managing a broad litigation caseload, including commercial disputes, contract matters, and other civil litigation, with mentorship from experienced partners.

The ideal candidate is admitted to the High Court of South Africa with 3–5 years PQE, skilled in pleadings, research, and advocacy, and capable of working under pressure in a client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Admitted attorney with post-qualification experience in dispute resolution and litigation.
• Strong drafting, research, and court document skills.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy abilities.
• Ability to manage demanding caseloads and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation from inception to resolution.
• Draft pleadings, memos, and court documents; conduct legal research.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Advise on litigation strategy and risk assessment; depositions.
• Collaborate with senior partners and legal professionals on complex cases.
• Maintain client relationships and ensure clear communication.
• Stay updated on applicable laws and court rules; contribute to firm initiatives.
