Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Dispatch and Scheduling Officer to join our Durban team. You will coordinate driver schedules, plan routes, and respond quickly to operational changes to keep deliveries punctual across the region.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dispatch, scheduling, or similar in logistics.
• Strong route planning and optimization knowledge.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
• Effective communication with drivers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage daily and weekly driver schedules, ensuring optimal resource allocation and coverage.
• Plan and optimize delivery routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal departments regarding dispatch information and any schedule changes.
• Monitor driver performance and adherence to schedules, addressing any issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and update the transportation management system (TMS) in real-time.
• Respond to urgent requests and adapt schedules as needed to accommodate operational needs in Durban.
