Job summary

Blacksmith Agency seeks a Director of Search Marketing to lead the PPC and SEO functions across multiple clients. You will mentor the PPC and SEO strategists, own channel strategy, and drive department performance and client success.

You will be responsible for setting quality standards, reporting integrity, and ensuring scalable growth while maintaining strong client relationships; this is a management seat, not a solo contributor role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across paid media and SEO.
• Depth in Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, Meta and Microsoft Ads.
• Experience managing a team of strategists or specialists.
• Ability to own channel strategy and client-facing accountability.
• Agency experience carrying many accounts.

Responsibilities

• Own channel strategy and where budget goes as accounts scale.
• Set quality standards and audits for audits and reporting, and hold the team to them.
• Ensure client results and honest reporting across the function.
• Lead escalation when an account is at risk and direct the strategist to fix it.
• Lead hiring plans for the department and conduct first-round interviews.
