Job summary

Kontak Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Despatch and Warehouse Manager in Johannesburg to oversee daily warehouse operations, stock movement, order preparation and final dispatch of finished products.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the warehouse and despatch department.

• Plan and coordinate the preparation, loading and dispatch of customer orders.
• Ensure orders are checked, correctly documented and dispatched on time.
• Supervise warehouse and despatch employees and allocate daily responsibilities.
• Monitor employee attendance, productivity, performance and discipline.
• Drive departmental targets and maintain efficient workflow.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production and Management regarding order priorities and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of stock movements, dispatches and outstanding orders.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damaged goods and dispatch errors.
• Ensure finished products are handled, stored and loaded correctly.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety and security standards within the warehouse.
• Identify operational delays or risks and communicate them proactively.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly warehouse and despatch reports.
• Take full accountability for the performance and administration of the department.

Despatch and Warehouse Manager required in Johannesburg.

An established furniture manufacturing company requires a hands-on Despatch and Warehouse Manager to oversee warehouse operations, stock movement, order preparation and the accurate dispatch of finished products.

The successful candidate will lead the department, manage employees firmly and effectively, maintain discipline, drive productivity and provide management with accurate operational reports and proactive updates.

Salary: R15 000 – R17 000 per month.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric or an equivalent qualification
• Relevant qualification in Warehouse Management, Logistics or Supply Chain Management would be advantageous
• Previous warehouse, despatch and logistics experience
• Proven experience supervising or managing warehouse and despatch employees
• Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Furniture manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous
• Strong leadership and employee-management skills
• Able to enforce productivity standards, targets and workplace discipline
• Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant warehouse or stock-management systems
• Able to compile and submit accurate operational reports
• Proactive communication and follow-up skills
• Able to work under pressure and take full accountability for the department
