Job summary

Industrial Development Corporation in South Africa seeks a senior investment professional to evaluate and structure funding applications, conduct due diligence and ensure risk mitigation in line with IDC objectives.

You will lead financial, technical or marketing assessments, prepare credit proposals, manage deals up to first drawdown, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver industry development outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: relevant commercial or technical honours degree.
• 5-8 years related experience, of which 2-3 years in assessment and closing transactions.
• Competent in one due diligence discipline (Marketing, Technical or Financial).
• Grounded in one due diligence discipline.
• Experience interpreting financial statements.
• Sector-specific knowledge advantageous.
• Knowledge of IDC financial products.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and effectively structure transactions with detailed application of IDC financing instruments.
• Evaluate applications for finance (financial, technical or marketing disciplines) through due diligence investigations.
• Deal structuring - Design and negotiate financial, EHS, legal and other relationships between client and IDC.
• Risk identification and mitigation.
• Participate in due diligence teams.
• Deal optimization - ensure alignment with unit objectives and industry goals.
• Account management up to first draw; prepare and submit credit proposals; ensure accurate client data management.
