Job summary

Merchant West Holdings seeks a professionnelle to originate, structure, and execute commercial property and term lending solutions. You will leverage client relationships, market insight, and deal structuring expertise to drive revenue growth in the Western Cape.

You will work closely with Credit, Legal and Operations to ensure compliant, bankable transactions, while developing robust client and intermediary networks for cross-sell and repeat business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; postgraduate qualifications or certifications advantageous.
• 1+ years’ experience in lending within Financial Services.
• Experience origination and execution of finance deals with a revenue track record.
• Proven client-facing experience within Financial Services; understands credit and risk frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Source and originate new commercial property and term lending opportunities; build a strong pipeline.
• Structure tailored lending funding solutions aligned to client needs and risk appetite.
• Manage end-to-end deal processes from origination to payout.
• Drive revenue by meeting targets and optimizing profitability.
• Ensure deals align with credit, risk, governance standards; collaborate with Credit.
• Develop and maintain long-term client and intermediary relationships.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to facilitate deal flow and submissions.
• Stay informed on market trends and identify new sector opportunities.
