Merchant West is seeking a results-driven Lending Specialist to originate and structure commercial property and term lending opportunities in the Port Elizabeth region. The role focuses on building a robust deal pipeline, originating new business, and ensuring disciplined credit and risk alignment to drive revenue growth.

The successful candidate will collaborate with Credit, Legal and Operations to streamline deal submissions and execution, while maintaining strong client and intermediary

Qualifications

• Source and originate new commercial property and term lending opportunities.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified deals.
• Drive market penetration and new client acquisition in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha.

Responsibilities

• Structure tailored commercial property and term lending funding solutions aligned to client needs and risk appetite.
• Manage the end-to-end deal process from origination to payout.
• Ensure efficient execution and turnaround of transactions.
• Generate revenue in line with targets and budgets.
• Optimise pricing and deal structures for profitability.
• Drive sustainable growth through repeat and new business.
• Collaborate with Credit, Legal and Operations to enable deal flow.
• Stay informed on market trends and identify new sector opportunities.
