Merchant West seeks a commercial property and term lending professional to originate, structure, and execute funding solutions in the Western Cape. You will build enduring client relationships, manage the full deal lifecycle from origination to payout, and ensure disciplined credit and risk alignment with the company’s standards.

The role emphasizes revenue growth, deal structuring, and cross-functional collaboration with Credit, Legal and Operations to optimize pricing and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; postgraduate qualifications or relevant financial services certifications are advantageous.
• 1+ years’ experience in a lending environment within Financial Services.
• Experience in origination, execution of finance deals with a revenue track record is advantageous.
• Proven client-facing experience within Financial Services; structuring transactions with credit and risk teams.

Responsibilities

• Source and originate new commercial property and term lending opportunities through networks and client engagement.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified deals.
• Drive market penetration and new client acquisition in the Western Cape region.
• Structure tailored lending funding solutions aligned to client needs and risk appetite.
• Manage end-to-end deal process from origination to payout.
• Ensure efficient execution and turnaround of transactions.
• Generate revenue in line with targets and budgets; optimize pricing and structures.
• Collaborate with Credit, Legal, Operations to enable deal flow and governance.
