Job summary

Discovery Limited in Gauteng/Sandton, South Africa, seeks a Data Scientist to join the Marketing Data Science Hub within Discovery Connect. The role focuses on data extraction, analyses, modelling and BI reporting to support marketing and sales analytics.

The successful candidate will perform analyses, build predictive models, and expand KPI reporting for clients, while guiding stakeholders on data needs and improving data processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience with Python or R.
• 2+ years’ experience with cloud platforms (Google, AWS, Azure).
• 5+ years of work experience as a Data Scientist or Quantitative Analyst.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses, provide insights, and build predictive models for sales, distribution, and marketing analytics.
• Expand automated KPI reports for lead volumes, call centre metrics, campaign performance.
• Enable performance marketing with data-driven insights and predictive models.
• Client segmentation and ideal client identification.
• Development and implementation of targeted marketing strategies.
• Optimise call centre operations and provide customised data to the business.
• Guide stakeholders on data to extract and disseminate information via reports.
