Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Data Protection Officer to oversee the data privacy strategy and compliance program. Based in Kimberley, you will advise on DPIAs, manage data subject requests, and promote a culture of privacy awareness across the organization.

You will liaise with authorities and stakeholders, ensure regulatory adherence, and drive training to strengthen data protection measures and customer trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, IT or related field.
• Experience in data protection, privacy law or compliance roles.
• Knowledge of POPIA and GDPR is required.
• Experience conducting DPIAs and handling data subject requests.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for data protection authorities and data subjects.
• Monitor compliance with POPIA and related laws.
• Advise on and oversee DPIAs.
• Develop and implement data protection policies and training.
• Manage data breaches, notification and resolution.
• Maintain records of processing activities and advise on governance.
