Derivco is seeking a Data Analyst Level 2 to join our Analytics team in Durban. You will turn complex datasets into actionable insights that drive business growth and inform decisions.

You will build dashboards using Power BI/Tableau, translate findings for diverse audiences, and maintain data quality across reporting solutions. Collaboration with Data Engineers is essential, and mentoring junior analysts is encouraged.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2–4 years of progressive experience in Data Analysis and BI.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data modelling and data governance.
• Exposure to Python and/or R for data analysis and automation.
• Strong analytical thinking and stakeholder engagement.

What You\'ll Be Doing

• Conduct independent analysis across multiple business domains to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions using business intelligence platforms.
• Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives and visualisations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Respond to ad-hoc business requests with accurate, data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Monitor and maintain data quality across reporting solutions, ensuring stakeholders can rely on accurate information.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and other technical teams to resolve data discrepancies and improve reporting processes.
• Proactively identify business trends, anomalies, and opportunities through ongoing analysis and performance monitoring.
• Mentor and support junior analysts through coaching, knowledge sharing, and review of analytical approaches.

What We\'re Looking For

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of progressive experience in Data Analysis and Business Intelligence.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience with business intelligence and data visualisation platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data modelling, and data governance principles.
• Exposure to Python and/or R for data analysis and automation.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to communicate technical findings in a clear and meaningful way to diverse audiences.

Bonus Points For

• Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, or advanced statistical analysis.
• Exposure to Agile delivery environments.
