Job summary

Derivco is seeking a Data Analyst Level 2 to join our Analytics team in Durban. You will turn complex datasets into actionable insights that drive business growth and inform decisions.

You will build dashboards using Power BI/Tableau, translate findings for diverse audiences, and maintain data quality across reporting solutions. Collaboration with Data Engineers is essential, and mentoring junior analysts is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2–4 years of progressive experience in Data Analysis and BI.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, data modelling and data governance.
• Exposure to Python and/or R for data analysis and automation.
• Strong analytical thinking and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent analysis across multiple business domains to identify trends and insights.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions using BI platforms.
• Translate analytical findings into clear narratives and visuals for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Respond to ad-hoc business requests with data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Monitor and maintain data quality across reporting solutions for reliable information.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to resolve data discrepancies and improve reporting.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities through ongoing analysis.
• Mentor and support junior analysts through coaching and review of approaches.
