Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst specialized in Threat Intelligence to join our client in Midrand, Gauteng. You will collect, analyze, and disseminate threat intel to inform defensive actions and strategic decisions.

Responsibilities include developing reports, tracking threat actors and campaigns, mapping TTPs to MITRE ATT&CK, and supporting incident response with timely context. Hybrid work from Midrand with remote options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of cybersecurity experience with threat intelligence focus.
• Proven experience with threat intelligence platforms, OSINT tools and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of cyber threat landscapes, attacker methodologies, and malware concepts.
• Excellent written communication and ability to translate data into actionable intelligence.

About the Role Our client, a fast-paced technology startup, is looking for a sharp and analytical Cybersecurity Analyst with a specialization in Threat Intelligence to join their team in Midrand, Gauteng, ZA. This role is crucial in proactively identifying, analyzing, and disseminating intelligence on emerging cyber threats, adversaries, and their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). You will leverage various data sources and tools to provide actionable intelligence that enhances our client's defensive capabilities. This hybrid position offers the benefit of working from the Midrand, Gauteng, ZA office and remotely. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about staying ahead of cyber threats. Your contributions will directly impact the security posture and resilience of our client's digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Strong understanding of cyber threat landscapes, attacker methodologies, and malware analysis concepts.
• Excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable intelligence.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar environment is a plus.
