Job summary

Maersk is seeking a highly motivated Subject Matter Expert (SME) Customs to join the Customs team in Durban/CPT. You will act as the bridge between Area Customs teams and FPO/Platform teams, driving standardization, operational excellence, and digital transformation initiatives to enhance customs processes and system implementations.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of customs processes and regulatory workflows.
• Excellent data analytics capabilities to interpret performance trends.
• Experience with operational platforms and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary link between Area Customs teams and FPO/Platform teams.
• Bridge between operations and system stakeholders to drive alignment.
• Lead and manage customer implementation activities related to customs processes and system enhancements.
• Provide ongoing support to Super Users and Area MCS Managers.
• Escalate issues to Central FPO and Platform teams as required.
• Drive process optimization and standardization across Customs operations.
• Participate in UAT and support deployment of new systems and tools.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and identify trends and improvements.
• Develop and deliver training programs to strengthen capabilities and system adoption.
• Support change management and successful implementation of new processes and technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve efficiency and outcomes.
