Job summary

Maersk in Durban seeks a Customs Delivery Agent to ensure smooth clearance and compliant documentation for shipments. You will work with brokers, carriers and authorities to resolve queries and keep customers informed throughout the process. A focus on accuracy and regulatory adherence is essential for timely cargo movement.

The role requires 2–3 years in customs or freight forwarding and a relevant degree, with strong SA regulatory knowledge and adept data handling in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain or customs field.
• 2–3 years’ experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding or related work.
• Strong knowledge of SA customs regulations and OGAs.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify completeness of invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and permits for clearance.
• Submit accurate customs documentation to brokerage teams on time.
• Coordinate submissions to Port Health, NRCS and other authorities as required.
• Liaise with brokers, customers, carriers and authorities to resolve queries.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and audit trails per regulatory requirements.
